THE PROGRAM
What does The Posture Clinic actually do?
We treat chronic pain with a four-pillar system · we calm the nervous system, correct the structure, retrain movement and function, and rebuild the tissue. Most patients we see have been to many other providers and have been told there is nothing more to try. Our program runs twelve weeks after an initial Pain Protocol, and we measure outcomes with five clinical scores that roll into one Optimal Vitality Score. We do not manage chronic pain · we work to eradicate it.
How long is the program?
A Pain Protocol of one to three weeks, then 12 Weeks to Better Posture. The Pain Protocol is intensive · patients are in clinic almost daily and follow a daily at-home protocol. Once pain is controlled, the twelve weeks begin: Month 1 Align at three visits a week, Month 2 Rewire at two to three visits a week, Month 3 Mobilize at one to two visits a week. Some patients continue into an optional Longevity phase afterward.
Is this chiropractic?
Chiropractic is one of multiple tools we use. So is functional neurology, pain neuroscience education, vagal nerve work, posture correction, peptide and supplement therapy, laser therapy, vibration plate work, biofeedback, vestibular rehab, and neuromodulation. Calling us a chiropractic clinic would be like calling an orthopedic surgery center a physical therapy office · it would miss what we actually do.
Do you use medication?
We do not prescribe medication ourselves. Our program is non-pharmaceutical. We work alongside your prescribing physicians, and many of our patients reduce or eliminate medications over the course of the program with their prescriber's supervision. We never advise stopping a medication on your own.
Do you do labs?
No. We do not do blood work or laboratory testing. If you have recent labs from another provider, we will review them. Our diagnostic system uses non-invasive measurements · 3D posture, qEEG, WAVI neurological assessment, movement analysis, balance and proprioception testing, and structured patient history.
How much of a time commitment is this?
This is the honest version of the question that matters most. Our program is intensive. During the Pain Protocol phase (the first 1 to 3 weeks) you are in clinic almost daily and also follow an at-home protocol daily. After that, the 12 Weeks To Better Posture phase tapers but is still a real weekly commitment. We ask you to invest 12 weeks of your time so you can live the rest of your life pain-free. If you are not in a place where you can invest that time, the program is probably not the right fit right now · and that is honest information for both of us.
APPLY
What is the Patient Interview?
A 30-minute conversation by phone or video with our clinical team. You come fresh · no forms to fill out in advance. The 30 minutes is for the questions our clinical system needs answered and for your questions about us. It is not a sales call.
Why do I have to apply? Why can't I just book an appointment?
We only accept a few new patients each month. The application and Patient Interview help us both decide whether we can do for you what you need. We are not the right clinic for every chronic pain patient · and we would rather find that out in a 30-minute call than after you have invested in our program.
What is the $200 deposit for?
It holds your interview slot and signals real commitment from both sides. If we decide we are not a fit · either you decide or we decide · the $200 is automatically refunded the same day we send the decision. If we extend an offer and you accept, we collect a second $200 and the total $400 applies to your exam day.
How long until I hear back?
You will hear from a human within one business day of submitting your application, with a link to schedule your Patient Interview. You get our decision on the call itself · by the end of the 30 minutes you know whether we are extending an offer or not.
What if I am turned down?
A Your $200 deposit is automatically refunded to your card. We tell you why on the call · usually because we believe a less intensive path is more appropriate for your case, or because we cannot safely treat a specific complication. We will often refer you to a clinician we trust.
Can I bring a spouse or family member to the interview?
Yes. Many patients do. Tell us when you schedule the interview so we plan the time accordingly.
COST
Do you take insurance?
No. We do not bill insurance and we do not provide documentation for out-of-network reimbursement. We are a cash-pay specialty clinic. Our model lets us deliver the program the way we built it · not the way an insurance contract would constrain it.
What does the program cost?
We share the investment range during the Patient Interview, not before. We do this on purpose · the cost depends on the program length, the treatments, and the case complexity, and we will not quote a number that does not match what you actually need. What we can tell you up front is that the program is a significant investment, and we will be honest about that during the call.
What if cost is the only barrier?
Tell us on the Patient Interview. We have payment options. We will not let cost stand in your way · this is a principle we hold to. We would rather find a path for you than lose you to cost.
Is the $200 deposit refundable?
Yes · until you accept an offer. If we decide we are not a fit, the deposit is automatically refunded. If you decline an offer we extend, the deposit is refunded. Once you accept an offer and we collect the second $200, your $400 becomes non-refundable because the clinic time is now reserved · but that $400 applies to your exam day.
Do you offer financing?
We discuss financing options on the Patient Interview when relevant. We do not advertise specific terms here because they change. The honest version of the answer is · we have options, and we will walk you through them on the call.
CLINIC
Where is the clinic?
6425 53rd St N Ste 6, Pinellas Park, FL 33781. We are intake-only · not walk-in. Most of our patient base is in the Tampa Bay area.
What are your hours?
Monday through Thursday, 8:00am to 6:00pm. Friday, 8:00am to 3:00pm. Closed Saturday and Sunday. All visits are by appointment only.
How often do I come in during the program?
During the Pain Protocol phase (the first 1 to 3 weeks), patients are in clinic almost daily and also follow an at-home protocol daily. During the 12 Weeks To Better Posture phase, visits taper. We design the schedule to match the case and what travel you can handle.
Is the clinic accessible?
Yes. Single-floor layout. ADA-accessible entry, restrooms, and treatment rooms. If you have specific mobility needs, mention them on your application and we will plan accordingly.
CONDITIONS
I have failed back surgery syndrome. Can you help?
In most cases, yes · with a clear caveat. We cannot undo a surgery and we will not promise to. What we can usually do is treat the brain pain pattern, the compensatory dysfunction, and the dormant musculature around the fused segment.
I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Is it treatable?
Yes, in our experience · though it is one of the more complex pictures we treat. Fibromyalgia is fundamentally a brain and autonomic problem and shows up clearly on qEEG and HRV measurements. We can usually shift the picture significantly with the right protocol.
I have sciatica that will not quit. Will more PT help?
It depends on what is driving it. If the issue is a disc bulge, more PT directed at the disc rarely works. If the issue is hip dysfunction, multifidus shutdown, or central sensitization · which is most of the cases we see · we treat all three.
I have CRPS. I have been told nothing helps long term.
CRPS is one of the most painful conditions in medicine and one of the most worth treating. The current research strongly supports aggressive brain retraining and cortical remapping. We have meaningful experience with CRPS.
I have neuropathy. Can nerves actually heal?
In most patients we see, yes · though slowly. Diabetic neuropathy responds best when we treat the brain map, the nervous system, the inflammation, and the metabolic substrate together.
My condition is not on your Results page. Does that mean you cannot help?
No. The twelve cases on Results are the patterns we see most often, not the only patterns we treat. The condition name matters less than the underlying pattern, and we work from patterns. Apply and we will tell you on the interview whether your situation fits our system.
DOCTORS
Who will I see at my exam?
Dr. Mark T. Wade is the Lead Clinician at The Posture Clinic and leads the exam and treatment planning on every case. Dr. Krista Burns leads the neurology assessment. The two of them design your program together. Day-to-day visits during the program may also include other members of the clinical team.
Where did you train?
Dr. Mark holds a Doctorate of Chiropractic and a Doctorate of Public Health, with more than 500 registered hours of formal study in pain and more than 50 advanced certifications across posture, neurology, ergonomics, and pain neuroscience. Dr. Krista holds a Doctorate of Chiropractic, a Doctorate of Health Administration, and Diplomate-level credentials in functional neurology (DACNB). The Doctors page lists every credential.
Are you the American Posture Institute people?
Yes. Dr. Mark and Dr. Krista founded the American Posture Institute, the largest postgraduate posture education provider in the world. Our system has been delivered to thousands of clinicians in 20 countries. The Posture Clinic in Pinellas Park is the flagship · the place where the full system is delivered the way we built it.
SCIENCE
What is the IPS?
The Integrated Pain Score · our 0 to 100 measurement of how much your pain is affecting your life. Higher means worse. Severe chronic pain typically scores above 60. Most of our patients start well below the range a healthy person scores, and finish inside it. We will show you your own number on exam day and again at every re-exam.
What are the five scores you use?
IPS · Integrated Pain Score. FHS · Functional Health Score. MPS · Musculoskeletal Plasticity Score. DMS · Dynamic Mobility Score. NCS · Neuro Capacity Score. All five are scored 0 to 100 and on all five, higher is better. They roll into one composite number, your Optimal Vitality Score. We re-measure at midpoint and at finish.
How is your qEEG different from what a neurologist would do?
A diagnostic neurologist uses EEG to look for seizure activity and major pathology. We use qEEG to look at the brain pain matrix, autonomic balance, and cortical patterns associated with chronic pain. We are not diagnosing brain disease. We are mapping the functional brain in a way that lets us treat what we find.
Is there research supporting what you do?
Each of the treatment we use · pain neuroscience education, qEEG-guided neurofeedback, vagal nerve work, posture correction, functional neurology, photobiomodulation (laser), neuromodulation · has its own evidence base in the peer-reviewed literature. The Science page links to representative studies. We do not claim to be a randomized controlled trial. We are a specialty clinic applying a body of evidence as a system.
Are the case examples on your site real patients?
They are composite case examples · clinical illustrations built from common chronic pain patterns we see and the typical outcomes our program is designed to produce. They are not testimonials from specific patients. We do this so we can talk honestly about clinical patterns without compromising any individual patient's privacy.
